About Allyn

My passion for interior design has been a lifelong journey, starting back in my teenage years when I eagerly assisted my mother in redecorating my sisters' rooms. Straight out of high school, I found myself working in a shop that specialized in high-end home décor items. It was there that I discovered my love for transforming spaces, particularly relishing the opportunity to redecorate the showroom floor.

Dreaming of contributing to publications like Southern Living, I pursued studies in journalism and psychology at the University of South Alabama. Throughout my college years, I immersed myself in the retail world, selling home furnishings and accessories. The joy of helping clients enhance the beauty of their homes captivated me, leading me to manage a retail location specializing in custom window treatments and bedding after graduation—a journey that has now spanned approximately 20 years.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of collaborating with Five Gold Monkeys, Richtex Fabrics, and Cindy Meador Interiors. Recently, I celebrated the inclusion of one of my projects in the 2023 lookbook for Modern History furniture at the High Point Market, following a previous feature in Access Magazine in 2020.

My Design Philosophy

In my approach, I prioritize listening to my clients' needs and desires. I firmly believe that a home should reflect one's lifestyle, be livable, and endure. Using color and various textures is a personal touch I enjoy incorporating into my designs. Honesty and transparency are the cornerstones of my client relationships—I believe in realistic timelines and open communication.

Embracing my love for the outdoors, I strive to bring a touch of nature indoors, whether through natural stone elements, nature-inspired wallpaper patterns, or organic-shaped items. Natural elements are a recurring theme in my designs, offering a connection to the outdoors.

While I appreciate all aspects of interior design, my specialization lies in window treatment design. For two decades, I've immersed myself in the world of fabrics and trims, curating a design gallery filled with exquisite materials.

The key to a successful design journey, in my belief, lies in open and honest communication, a principle I hold dear in all my interactions with clients.
